This evening I found myself obsessed with one too many a Tumblr.  I thought I'd share two hat-related photos from 1957, both from The Nifty Fifties:

I love how avant-garde these hats are...  Almost surrealist and Schiaparelli, like a cross between a sea urchin and a lobster.

With this one, it's really more about the whole photo than anything.  I oftentimes wonder if we'll look back on the fashion photography of today with such nostalgia and/or awe and admiration.  What will elegance look like sixty years from now?
