mini-update

Finals have hit over at Parsons, and this past week was especially brutal with little time to eat, let alone sleep.  In spite of it all, I did manage to head over to Albrizio and get my first two hats blocked, with plenty of photos of the process to share with all of you very, very soon.  However, there is still some school work I need to finish before I can compose a memorable entry, so instead I thought I would post my final History of Design project, which happens to be hat-related.

Inspired by Richard Hamilton's 1956 collage "Just What Is It That Makes Today's Homes So Different, So Appealing?" I designed a small line of pop art hats that I like to think were "bad taste in good fun":

my final project

It was nice to take a break from all the seriousness of the fashion program and come up with something silly and meaningless.  Perhaps it was still a little leftover Jeremy Scott coming out of me, although I genuinely do find the idea of a "can of ham pillbox hat" or a "Hoover vacuum cloche" hilarious.  Enjoy!
